Cruise 2009 Collection: Christian Dior

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Christian Dior's John Galliano presented a brightly themed Cruise 2009 collection last week. He successfully pulled a colorful show that unites different elements of color, style, detail and fabrics that reflects the 60's trends with a Mexican twist.

The collection include pleated skirts, flouncy off-the-shoulder tops and of course, colorful sombreros that were so chic. Galliano's evening gowns came with full skirts, tiered layers, bows and embellished necklines. Tunics, capri pants, perfect suits, psychedelic prints, silk shantung, oversized costume jewelry arrived in Starburst colors.

As for the accessories, the designer used platform wedges and destined-to-be-the-next-It-bag Dior hobos that were fanciful and colorful.

Hayden Panettiere On Teen Vogue Magazine June/July 2008 Issue

Heroe's star, Hayden Panettiere, will be on the cover of Teen Vogue June/July 2008 Issue. The photo shoot took place in Malibu, California, where a sea lion showed up on the beach and Hayden ran to the rescue and called 911 and the ASPCA.

Here's an excerpt of Hayden's interview. Read the full story on June/July 2008 issue of Teen Vogue that will hit the newsstands tomorrow, May 20th!

On Tabloid Press: "In Hollywood, there is no such thing as being a nice girl. Or being, you know, not messed up. If you're not, they'll make you that way."

On Fame: "You feel like you're in a goldfish bowl. Nothing is private, and when they write about you, it's almost always completely false. I've never been pregnant, I've never moved in with somebody. There was a story about somebody giving me a ring that had "Sweet Like Hayden" engraved on it, and that person was like, 'Eww, I would never give you that.' And I was like, 'I wouldn't take that!'"
On Heroes Costar and Rumored Boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia: "I'll not comment until the day I die. I'm going to be married and I'll be like, 'I don't know who you're talking about. Who?'"

On the Success of Heroes: "It shakes you up. It's like they flip your life upside down. But it's opened tremendous doors for me."

On her Passion for Animal Rights: "The show put me in a place to speak for things that I'm passionate about. The footage we got [facing off with Japanese fisherman] really made an impact on people."

On Dealing with the Paparazzi: "I play a game with myself. If I get angry or make a nasty face, they win, because that's exactly what they want. I just keep my head up, my eyes down, my mouth shut, a pleasant look on my face, and I keep walking and hope that eventually they'll get bored."

Dos & Don'ts: Mother's Day Fashionable Gifts

Mother's Day is celebrated to honor all mothers and express gratitude for the hardships they bear in bringing up her children. Here in the Philippines, we celebrated Mother's Day yesterday (May 11). Even if the day was over, we can still offer gifts to our beloved mother because in celebrating Mother's day, a day is not enough....

If you want your mom to get excited about your gift, check out these dos and don'ts and pick the perfect present based on her personality.

For the Sun Worshipper
Don't: A bathing suit, whether one or two pieces, is a bit too intimate for a Mother's Day present, no matter how much she loves the beach.
Do: Instead of body wear, give Mom an all-in-one package of enjoyment with this Juicy Couture beach survival kit from Nordstrom.com. Complete with waterproof pouches for wet suits, a mirror, and an inflatable pillow, with this gift your sun worshipping mom will know that you really care.

For the Glamour Queen
Don't: Makeup is an extremely personal choice, and it's often nonreturnable. While the thought might be appreciated, your glamorous mother might not be a fan of an expensive product sitting around that isn't in her most flattering shade.
Do: Instead of playing matchmaker with her makeup, gift Mom with something she can keep her products in, like this Marc Jacobs pour Sephora treasure beauty case from Sephora.com.

For the Bling-Blinger
Don't: Your picky parent's feelings will be hurt by anything fake. No matter how realistic the replica may be, leave it at the store.
Do: Your love for your mother is real, so treat her to a nice piece of jewelry like this 33 carat sky blue topaz sterling silver bracelet from Ice.com to show her that your love for her, like diamonds, will last forever.

For the Chronically Late
Don't: An alarm clock is no fun to receive on Mother's Day because it points out flaws instead of fabulousness.
Do: A subtler suggestion, like this women's wildflower diamond watch from WorldOfWatches.com, will get the point across in a pretty and complementary way

Did you know? The Resolution for having a dedicated "Mother's Day" was signed by US President Woodrow Wilson on May 8, 1914. Since then people across the world have been celebrating Mothers Day with joy and devotion.

Eva Mendes Bares All (Again) in Vogue Italy

Thursday, May 8, 2008

The Latina Actress, Eva Mendes, has gone topless (again) for Italy’s Vogue magazine. She wear some revealing outfit, with sexy black stockings, a lacy basque and a see-through black shirt, open to reveal some of her private parts.

This is not her first time, she appeared completely naked as Denzel Washington’s girlfriend in Training Day, she also posed naked for a I’d Rather Go Naked anti-fur campaign poster for People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) last year, and graced the pages of the final issue of America’s Jane magazine last summer.

Here some of the photos that can be found inside the magazine:

According to Richard Corliss, "Every artist undresses his subject, whether human or still life. It is his business to find essences in surfaces, and what more attractive and challenging surface than the skin around a soul?". Artists may say that nudity is an art but can nudity be a part of fashion?
